De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and San Sebastian College-Recoletos will look to book their second win in a row when they tackle separate foes on Wednesday in the NCAA Season 97 women’s volleyball tournament.

Game time is at 12 p.m. with CSB facing Lyceum of the Philippines University, who was also successful in dispatching its first assignment, University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, over the weekend.

Meanwhile, San Sebastian will tangle with Mapua University at 2:30 p.m. in bid to join defending champion Arellano University as the early leaders of the competition.

Both CSB and San Sebastian are coming off morale-boosting wins.

The Jerry Yee-mentored CSB previously outhustled San Beda University in straight sets, 25-10, 25-13, 25-15, behind the tandem of sophomores Mycah Go and Gayle Pascual.

But they will be up against Lyceum side who also pulled off a sweep win against Perpetual during the opening weekend with Johna Dolorito showing the way.

Meanwhile, San Sebastian, with the returning head coach Roger Gorayeb at the helm, will try to build on the momentul from their earlier sweep victory against the hapless Emilio Aguinaldo College when they take on Mapua.

Against the Lady Cardinals, the Lady Stags are still expected to bank on Kath Santos, Kristine Dionisio, and Tina Marasigan who were key cogs in their rout of Mapua as they try to continue to impress this season.

“Siyempre pagbalik nila, tiwala sila. Pero kung nanood sila ngayon, medyo iba na siguro ‘yung tingin nila sa amin kasi prior to this, mahina na raw kami eh,” said Gorayeb after their first win.

“Siguro naman paghahandaan nila kami. Paghahandaan din namin sila.”
