Melbourne Racing Club made their decision on an inside track in Caulfield.
The Melbourne Racing Club has unanimously planned the Caulfield indoor track.
It comes after the MRC board met Thursday night after rigorous rounds of consultation with representatives of the coaches and jockey cohorts.
“The club is delighted to announce that the Executive Committee is unanimous in its decision to proceed with the delivery of a second runway within the current course proper,” MRC told members on Friday.
The new runway will be known as Caulfield Heath.
The track will allow Caulfield to host 45 matches per season.
The actual course will continue to host major meetings, including the Caulfield Cup, Caulfield Guineas and Blue Diamond Stakes.
