‘Doesn’t hurt anyone’: religious leaders declare indigenous support

Sky News contributor Erin Watson says moving forward with some form of reconciliation “doesn’t hurt anyone” as leaders of major faiths in Australia have decided to declare their support for an indigenous voice in the constitution.

The Catholic, Unifying and Anglican churches, the Australian National Council of Imams and the Executive Council of Australian Jewry on Friday will join Sikhs, Buddhists, Australian Hindus and the National Council of Churches in Sydney to approve the Uluru Declaration from the heart, according to to the Australian.

“It really doesn’t hurt anyone, but not moving hurts people, so we’re on the right side of the story with that,” Ms. Watson told Sky News host Jenna Clarke.
