Inclusive Digital Platform Experiences : inclusive assistance

Google has just rolled out a range of inclusive assistance with the new updates, elevating accessibility features to make daily tasks more seamless for users with disabilities. The overall improvements aim to help individuals with disabilities better navigate the digital space with more ease.

Starting with the new identity attribute that can be found on Google Maps and Search, it provides store owners with more information and allows them to self-identify as part of the community. This is followed by its Lens in Maps, which was previously known as Search with Live View. This caters to those who are visuall impaired, which can now access new screen reader capabilities. It also provides auditory feedback when the phone’s camera is lifted.
