Citing data from BARC, the official broadcaster of the marquee tournament also registered a 10 per cent increase from the 2019 edition in the total watch-time (consumption) for live broadcast, which is 243.6 billion minutes.

“Furthermore, the Average Time Spent (ATS) per viewer for the tournament has witnessed a significant growth of 18%*, emphasizing the keen interest in the competition and the deeply engaging coverage of the tournament by Disney Star,” the company said in a release.

It also said that all India clashes have registered peak live concurrency of more than 50 million viewers. India vs New Zealand, interestingly, had the highest peak concurrency, that is 80 million viewers.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is nearing a thrilling conclusion with one position still open for the semis and three teams fighting for it. While home team India has already secured the top position with 8 wins in as many matches, there are now chances that arch rival Pakistan may too make it to the semis and face the Rohit Sharma-led cricket side. Babar Azam’s men are now placed fifth in the World Cup table with 8 points in 8 matches with a net run rate of 0.036. They take on England in their final league match on Saturday (11 November) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
